^ ^ ^ Turn off Cuddy Valley Road at this sign, and take the Tecuya Ridge road (9N22) in a westerly direction (back towards the "Y" and Pine Mountain Club). The Pleito Creek Road turns off Tecuya Ridge road, and is sign posted as 9N19.

^ ^ ^ This is the view from Tecuya Ridge looking down into Cuddy Valley. The lake below is a sag pond lying on top of the San Andreas Fault a little west of the Lake Of The Woods township. I was told that one year a fissure opened under this lake and it completely drained in a very short space of time like pulling the plug from a bath tub full of water.

^ ^ ^ The 4x4 road to Pleito Creek campsite descends steeply and is badly rutted in places. The section we walked was constantly going down, down, down. So all downhill in one direction, and then all uphill for the return.

^ ^ ^ There were many moss covered trees in the shady glens along this route.

^ ^ ^ This was Zena's very first hike after she arrived on a plane from breeders in Arkansas the day before. Zena (English Shepherd) likes to run along fallen trees, well ..... she just likes to run around in general really.

^ ^ ^ Now that's unusual.

^ ^ ^ Is this purely the work of nature?

^ ^ ^ Or has something else had a hand in this?

^ ^ ^ One of those mysteries of the forest.

^ ^ ^ But pretty amazing however you look at it.
